CR-Lite
A working demonstration of the Continuity Receipts open standard
What is a Continuity Receipt?
A Continuity Receipt is a structured record issued whenever an AI system answers a query under the EM Foundation's Continuity Receipts (CR) standard. Each receipt documents the query, the confidence assessment across five dimensions, and whether the result met the threshold for the requested reliance level.
Every receipt is cryptographically chained to the previous one, creating an auditable provenance trail. A PASS receipt includes the answer; a FAILURE receipt withholds the answer and documents exactly which thresholds were not met.
Reliance Levels
| Level | Threshold | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| RC-1 | No minimum thresholds | Exploratory inquiry with no reliance on output |
| RC-2 | Aggregate ≥ 0.50, dimensions ≥ 0.40 | Informational use with moderate confidence requirements |
| RC-3 | Aggregate ≥ 0.70, dimensions ≥ 0.60 | Operational decisions; human review recommended |
| RC-4 | Aggregate ≥ 0.85, dimensions ≥ 0.70 | Professional reliance; expert review required on failure |
| RC-5 | Aggregate ≥ 0.90, dimensions ≥ 0.80 | Consequential decisions; highest confidence bar |
